On May 30, 2012, the Brain Trust event, ROCK, was held at the Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex to support the Gerry & Nancy Pencer Brain Tumour Centre at Princess Margaret Hospital. Performances by Marc Cohn as well as Joan Jett and the Blackhearts transported guests to the era of their favourite tunes for a night of food, entertainment and hope for the end of brain tumours. Rocking out to a good cause certainly paid off: Thanks to generous sponsors and passionate supporters, over $800,000 was raised by the end of the night. Proceeds continue to fund the Centre’s stellar patient care, including treatments, research, and general support.
